Provenance

The unstructured Italian linen jacket traces its roots to the warmer coastal regions of Italy, particularly Naples, where tailors began stripping away the heavy canvassing, padding, and rigid construction found in British tailoring. In a climate defined by heat, humidity, and movement, Neapolitan craftsmen developed jackets that felt almost shirt-like — softer shoulders, lighter linings, minimal structure, and breathable linen cloths that draped naturally on the body.
