The Details

Considered, point by point.

  1. The Tangaliya Fabric

    The Tangaliya Fabric

Woven by hand by the Dangasia community of Gujarat, Tangaliya has tiny raised dots that form a pattern in the weave itself. The dots are made by wrapping extra thread around the warp as the cloth is woven, so no printing or embroidery is involved. Each shirt carries its own scattering of diamonds, lines and triangles, with some dots picked out in a warm golden thread. The fabric is breathable, textured and soft against the skin, and it gets better with every wash.
  2. Rounded cuff with Tangaliya

    Rounded cuff with Tangaliya

The cuffs carry a band of Tangaliya motifs, a quiet detail that shows when you roll up your sleeves or reach for a handshake. The dotted diamond pattern is woven into the cloth, so it won't peel, fade or wear off. It adds craft to the shirt without making it loud.
  3. Split Yoke Back

    Split Yoke Back

The panel across the shoulders, is cut in two pieces and joined at the centre back. This lets the fabric's texture run in a V-shape, which looks refined and sits better on the shoulders. The cut also gives you more room to move, so the shirt stays comfortable through long days. It's a small tailoring detail you'll notice as soon as you turn the shirt around.
  4. Mother Of Pearl Buttons with Fleur De Lys Stitch & Shank

Mother Of Pearl Buttons with Fleur De Lys Stitch & Shank

Real mother of pearl buttons catch the light with a soft, natural shimmer that plastic buttons can't match. Each one is sewn on with a fleur-de-lys stitch, a classic tailoring finish that holds the button firmly. A thread shank lifts the button slightly off the fabric so it fastens easily and lasts longer. It's the kind of detail usually found on fine tailored shirts.
  5. Classic Straight Point Collar

    Classic Straight Point Collar

A clean, classic collar with sharp, straight points that frame the face well. It looks neat buttoned all the way up and relaxed when worn open. It works with everything from a casual weekend outfit to a smart-casual office look and it needs no stiff collar stays or heavy starching to hold its shape.

This garment is made with

Kala Cotton

Kala cotton is an old, native cotton variety grown in Kutch, Gujarat, using traditional, rain-fed farming. It needs no chemical fertilisers, no pesticides and very little water. It is naturally resilient to Kutch's dry climate, and it has been grown there for centuries. Its slightly coarse fibre gives fabrics a pleasing texture and makes them breathable, durable and soft over time. By choosing Kala cotton, you support a pure, home-grown crop, sustainable farming, and the weavers and farmers who keep this heritage alive.

Provenance

The straight-point collar shirt traces its origins to the evolution of classic dress shirts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Characterized by its narrow collar points that angle downward, it became a defining feature of refined menswear, offering a clean and balanced appearance suitable for both formal and business attire. Favored for its versatility, the straight-point collar complements a wide range of face shapes and pairs effortlessly with or without a tie. Over the decades, it has remained a cornerstone of men's fashion, adapting to modern tailoring while preserving its timeless elegance.
